During the early development stage of the animated series, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous,  Doug was brought aboard as a consultant to help the writers and creators shape this fresh adaptation of the Jurassic World franchise.  The long-form, streaming format of the Camp Cretaceous offered infinite opportunities to pull back the cinematic walls and expand the JW landscape to include visually dynamic environments not achievable in a live-action feature format.

 

Doug’s contribution included:

• Brainstorming fresh concepts for character development and story-building

• Creating several visual presentations that inspired new and evocative environments while holding the original Jurassic World feature film architecture as a touchstone

• Creating a conceptual, visual map of the Camp Cretaceous island as a genesis for discussions about relational spaces, diversity of the ecosystem, story logistics, color palette, graphics, tone, and more

 

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous premiered on Netflix on September 18, 2020.
